Overview
Robert has 35 years experience in software development, both in New Zealand and the USA. This experience has been gained in academic, technical and commercial environments and covers a wide range of subject matter areas, including telecommunications, medical practice management, graphics development, SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition), natural resource modeling, and decision support systems for natural resource management. Areas of specialized professional competence include problem solving, modeling systems, systems analysis and development.
Background
Robert has been in New Zealand for nearly 10 years. He has most recently worked for Statistics New Zealand developing systems to support the 2006 Census, including support for the Online Census Option. Previously, he has worked on a medical practice management system, numerous telecommunications support systems, SCADA, and graphics development. His career in IT development started in academia doing simulation modeling of natural resources at the Center for Quantitative Studies in Fisheries, Forestry and Wildlife at the University of Washington.
Robert has a B.Sc. in Mathematics (with honours) from the University of Washington, in Seattle, Washington.
